1.   Read the text and answer the following questions.                     (5 x 1 = 5)

In ancient Greece, there lived a man called Tantalus. He was half man and half god. His father was the great Greek god Zeus. One day Zeus invited him up to Mount Olympus, high above the clouds for dinner. When Tantalus received the invitation, he was very proud. "Dinner with the gods!" he thought. "What a grand honour!" said Tantalus and climbed up to the very top of Mount Olympus in his embroidered robes to dine with his father and the other gods. They had an exquisite dinner together. The next morning Tantalus lay in bed remembering the glorious evening. "I must return the invitation." "But what can I serve them? I must give them something I value more than anything." And then Tantalus had a terrible idea, a horrible one. He decided to take his son, Pelpos, and chop him up and serve him as a stew to the gods. The gods, who saw everything, were furious. "How could he do such a thing?" they asked. "He knows we hate human sacrifice. We will have to punish him." As a punishment they sent him down to the underworld, where he had to stand in water up to his neck forever.

The ultimate vision experts are working towards is of completely driverless vehicles, both within industry, wider transport networks, and personal-use cars, that can be deployed and used anywhere and everywhere around the world.
But with all these hurdles in place, what exactly does the next 10 years have in store for autonomous vehicles?
Two years from now 
The biggest hurdle for those in the driverless technology industry is how to get the cars to operate safely and effectively in complex and unpredictable human environments. Cracking this Part of the puzzle will be the major focus of the next two years.
At the Mcity Test Facility at the University of Michigan, experts are addressing this. The world's first purpose-built testing ground for autonomous vehicles, it is a mini-town of sorts, made up of 16 acres of road and traffic infrastructure. It includes traffic signals and signs, underpasses, building facades, tree cover, home and garage exterior for testing delivery and ride-hailing and different terrains such as road, pedestrian walkways, railway tracks, and road-markings which the vehicles must navigate. It's here that experts test scenarios that even the most experienced of drivers may be pressed to handle, from children playing in the street to two cars trying to merge on a junction at the same time.

Traditional red telephone boxes are disappearing from British streets because mobile phones are now widely used to make calls outside the home. But many communities want to keep their telephone boxes these are mostly owned by BT, a telecommunications company. Now, in response to public demand, BT Bas launched a scheme called 'Adopt a kiosk'.
Foneabilities as £1, telephone kiosks are adopted and turned into something else, for example, art gkioskss, information centers and, most popular of all mini libraries. Telephone box libraries have now appeared in towns and villages all over Britain. Shelves are built in the telephone box, and books are donated by locals. The libraries are operated as book exchanges: readers can come and take a book any time they like, but they must replace or return books they take. Some kiosks are locked at night; others are open round the clock. All kinds of books appear on the shelves, from detective stories and biographies, to cookery books and Harry Potter novels. Everyone stops to chat around the phone box,' say Claire from Essex. 'It's really brought the community together. Our nearest public library is several kilometers away, so it's great to have this facility in our. Village,' adds her partner, Steve. 'I can read e-book on my tablet, but I'd far rather turn the pages of a real book!"

Sprouts may refer to a member of vegetable or plant beans after they begin to grow. The most common sprouts that people regularly use in cooking are alfalfa, say, moong bean as well as other types of bean sprouts. They are considered wonder food because of their high nutritional value. Sprouts relatively contain the largest amount of nutrients per unit of any food known to man. Sprouts produce a fountain of power for chemical changes. Enzymes are produced, starch gets converted into glucose, protein is transformed into amino acids and Vitamin value increases. In fact, a new explosion of life force takes place. According to a study, the vitamin C value of wheat increases 600 percent in the early sprouting period. It is found that cancer was inhibited up to 90% when healthy bacteria were exposed to a cancer causing substance in the presence of juice made from wheat sprouts. The antioxidant activity of the organic compounds found in sprouts makes it a very good anti-cancer choice for your diet.
Enzymes which initiate and control almost every chemical reaction in our bodies are greatly activated in the sprouting process. Enzymes spark the entire digestive system to synthesize the nutrients in our food into the blood. They are the key to longevity.
Sprouts are enjoyed more when they are fresh. Mix sprouts with other food and dressing according to your taste and enjoy eating them. But you must eat them, every day! you will soon realise that making sprouts a part of your life has dramatic effect on your health with this live food, all the cells of your body will become active and agile.

They offer a abundance of advantages for academic pursuits. Students can access a vast amount of information, educational apps, and online resources at their fingertips. They can connect with teachers, classmates, and experts for clarification of doubts and collaborative learning. Additionally, mobile phones facilitate time management, organization, and note-taking, enhancing overall efficiency.  

However, the misuse of mobile phones can be detrimental to students' academic performance and well-being. Excessive browsing of social media and engaging in chats can lead to distractions, reduced focus, and to be slow.. The addictive nature of these platforms can consume valuable study time and hinder academic progress. Moreover, the exposure to cyberbullying, misinformation, and inappropriate content poses serious risks to students' mental health and safety. It is crucial to establish healthy boundaries and digital etiquette to harness the benefits of mobile phones while mitigating their potential drawbacks.

JHOLA : CHARACTERISTICS
Nepali movie ‘Jhola’ is a movie made on a popular book by the same name by literary figure, Krishna Dharabasi. The plot set on the Nepali society of the time about a century ago. The movie directed by Yadav Kumar Bhattarai features Garima Pant, DeshBhaktaKhanal, Deepak Chhetri, LaxmiGiri, PralhadKhatiwada in main roles. 
The movie presents the height of violence against women in ancient Nepal – Sati tradition. In ‘Jhola’ an young woman (Garima Pant) is married to a man 40 years senior to her. When her husband dies, Garima is kept to be burned alive with the dead body of her husband. She escaped the fire and hides in a cave.
STRENGTH AND WEAKNESS
The movie depicts the environment of East Nepal at the time of 100 years ago. The movie uses long shot to present realistic views of the time. The movie features traditional tools like dhiki, janto, madani, ranko, diyalo and so on.
The cinematography is one of the best aspect of the movie. Most of the lighting during the shooting were also made by traditional lights like ranko,  diyalo and fire place light.
RECOMMENDATION
‘Jhola’ is a historical movie to get a glimpse of the time of our fore fathers. The movie is a mirror of violence against women in ancient time. ‘Jhola’ has it’s share of shortcomings but, it is a good historical movie. If you like fight, singing and dance, and fun in movies – this might not be the one you would love to watch.
